Challenge
Two co-founders wanted a marketplace where couples book vendors and pay through the platform, with the platform taking a cut. They had wireframes for both sides and a shortlist of 30 vendors who had said yes to being early sellers.
Approach
Next.js 15 on Vercel with Firebase Auth and Firestore for the document-shaped data. Stripe Connect for split payouts to vendors. Vendor onboarding with KYC flows. A seeded directory of 30 vendors so the site felt populated on launch day.
Outcome
Live on day 12. $40k in booking GMV in the first month, with zero production incidents. The founders now have a Loom walkthrough they show every new vendor during onboarding.
